The Netherlands must cut its public deficit by 29 billion euros (40 billion dollars) by 2015 to cover costs stemming from a longer living population, the Central Planning Bureau said Tuesday.
On the current policy course, the deficit was expected to fall from 6.3 percent of GDP in 2010 to 4.9 percent in 2011 and 2.9 percent in 2015 -- a total reduction of 18 billion euros, the CPB said in a statement.
